Are you planning a trip to Mumbai, New York, London or Melbourne? If so, consider flying on Etihad Airways on its newest route London to Melbourne. Etihad was the airline that introduced the most expensive flight to Mumbai and New York via Abu Dhabi costing more than $80,000. This airline has recently introduced a London-Melbourne round trip ticket aboard “the Residence.”

The commercial carrier offers passenger traveling from London to Melbourne or vice versa a chance to travel in Etihad’s “The Residence.” The carriers, described as a “penthouse in the sky” have a luxury three-room suite and it is aboard the Airbus A380, which they named as the Residence. The luxury suite in the sky has all the amenities of a five-star hotel.

The Residence luxury 125 square foot is available for single or double occupancy. It is fully equipped with a double bed instead of the usual seats found on many commercial planes. The “Penthouse in the Sky” also has a living room with 32-inch flat screen LCD TV, a leather double sofa and a two-fold away dining table. The luxury suite has its own Savoy-trained butler to serve the meals prepared by the onboard chef.

The ticket costing $80,000 includes private transfer to and from the airport, VIP lounge, and separate check-in. It also comes with a personal travel concierge to book tickets to concert or sporting event and reserve a table at your chosen restaurant. A flight aboard the Etihad “the Residence” makes one stop in Abu Dhabi where the passengers accompanied into the first class lounge. There is also a nanny trained at Norland College in Bath on board each of the A380 flights.

The flight is about $4,500 more than the previous cost of the most expensive ticket – a roundtrip ticket from New York to Mumbai. The Etihad’s “the Residence” was launched end of 2014 together with the renovation of the business and first class section and an upgraded economy class.

Shane O’Hare, Etihad Airways senior vice-president of Marketing said, “Etihad Airways currently operates three daily A380 services from London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi, so our guests can now enjoy the convenience and class-leading comfort of an all-A380 service all the way to Melbourne.
