The American media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has recently been in the news for his highly publicized marriage to model Jerry Hall. Also, the new couple has put up for sale the newly renovated New York’s West Village Townhouse for $28.9 million.
The Australian-born billionaire media proprietor acquired the redbrick townhouse, originally a bed and breakfast in March 2015 for $25 million. Murdoch turned the townhouse into a four-bedroom and 6-storey townhouse. The 25-foot wide Greek style townhouse is located on a scenic and tree-lined street. This townhouse has redbrick exterior, elegantly polished interior, black lacquered woodwork and a trio-marble fireplace. It also has a charming and striking foyer, large gallery, soaring ceilings, elegant moldings and floor to ceiling windows.
The multi-million townhouse also boasts of a living room that opens to a Juliet balcony overlooking a beautiful private garden. On the garden level, you will find the breakfast room with an elegant French door, kitchen with quartzite counter tops and a second fireplace. There is also a climate-controlled wine cellar underneath the main floor, a gym and screening room, which you will find on the lowest level of the townhouse.
This 6,500 sq ft home has four bedrooms in which the master suite occupies the third floor while the fourth floor has the two bedrooms.
