World’s Most Expensive Dinner Being Organized in Aid of the Hungry

Dubai has come forward to help the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and is organizing the world’s most expensive dinner to raise funds. The high profile event will take place on the helipad at the Burj Al Arab hotel. It is the most appropriate location for the event as it is the iconic luxury structure that defines Dubai. The charity dinner will host only twelve guests who will have to pay $2,700 each for the meal. The money thus collected will be used to feed the hungry and the poor across the world. The event is scheduled for 13th March later this month.

The Helipad Has Hosted Many High Profile Events

The expensive dinner has been scheduled as the grand finale to the inaugural Dubai Food Festival. The helipad of the iconic hotel has become a popular location for high profile events. It provides panoramic view across the Arabian Sea and the Dubai skyline. Aston Martin, the sports car maker had celebrated its centenary from the helipad. Recently Tiger Woods and Rory Mcilroy had hit golf balls from the helipad into the Arabian Sea. Andre Agassi and Roger Federer have played tennis on the helipad and, most recently, it was host to a spectacular demonstration of a ‘drift’ by Formula One champions, the Red Bull racing team.

Maxime Luvara Has Created the Menu for the Dinner

The guests for the High Table dinner will be received on the lower deck with a traditional Arabian welcome. The guests will then go to the helipad and enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands while the dinner is being served. The gastronomic seven course menu has been created by Burj Al Arab’s executive chef, Maxime Luvara. He is known for his classical French, Mediterranean and fusion cuisine. He has worked in Michelin starred restaurants across the world including with chef Alain Ducasse in Le Louis XV, Monaco and with chef Antoine Westermann in Le Burehiesel, Paris. He has not revealed the actual menu for the event but his signature style is sure to be evident in the most expensive dinner.
