The World’s Most Expensive Bike has a Frame of Gold Worth $1 Million

A super rich motorcycle fan from Turkey has built what he claims to be the most expensive motorcycle in the world. Tarhan Telli has designed the motorcycle on a mythological theme and features a Medusa sculpture on the gas tank. Apart from that you have serpents reaching around to the tail section. The passion of the builder is visible in the most expensive bike. The experts who have assessed the bike believe that the frame of the bike alone could be worth $1 million as it has been crafted out of pure gold. However the bike doesn’t look expensive. On the contrary it looks old and beaten up, but that is part of the design and has been done on purpose.

Builder Approached the Guinness Book of World Records for Listing

The maker of the bike has now approached the Guinness Book of World Records for an official listing as the most expensive motorcycle in the world. The current record is held by the MTT Turbine Superbike, which “only” cost $185,000. However he is yet to reveal how much he actually spent on building the bike. The basic structure of the bike is not very different as it runs on an 1801cc V-Twin with 125 horsepower and a six-speed transmission. But what makes the bike different and exclusive is the artistry with which it has been put together. A lot of gold has been used but it is not loud and the gold finish has been deliberately obscured.

Bike With a Frame of Gold

Tarhan Telli Did Not Want the Shine of Chrome or Gold

The motorcycle wears an aged and weathered look. Tarhan Telli clearly did not want the shine of gold or chrome. He has used rugged, almost industrial-looking materials to camouflage the bling factor of the gold. He has even used studs and fringes around the perimeter of the seat. The bike weighs 700 pounds and runs well with its 125 horsepower and six speed transmission. However the bike will always be known as the bike with a frame made entirely of gold. It is obviously the result of the passion Telli has for motorcycles. But the decisive factor is that he can afford to spend millions on building a bike of his dreams.
