The Luxury Land Yacht Concept by Airstream is Ready for Production

The concept of Land Yacht developed by Airstream, the leading travel trailer manufacturers, is ready for going into commercial production. The exterior of the trailer is somewhat deceptive as it is not very different from the silver bullet exterior of other Airstream trailers. It is the interior that is clearly inspired by luxury yachts and has taken luxury to a decadent level. The trailer is 28 feet long and the entire space has been done up lavishly. Every material used is the best in its category. You have boat deck flooring, hidden LED lighting and Corian countertops. The air-conditioning is also very quiet as it has been ducted.

Airstream Trailer - land-yacht

Design is by Officinia Italiana Design and Yacht-Designer Mauro Micheli

Airstream has worked with the Italian cabinetmaker Tecnoform S.p.A. to create the exclusive interiors. The concept and the design has been created by a collaboration between Officinia Italiana Design and yacht-designer Mauro Micheli. They have utilized the space optimally and truly created a luxurious land yacht. They have used only Italian premium fabrics for upholstery that creates an ambiance of understated luxury. The land yacht travel trailer features the bedroom right in front. The bathroom is in the middle and the rear end of the trailer features the living room or the social space and a well equipped kitchen. The bed and the table are powered to move with the flick of a button to create more storage or partying space.

The Trailer Will Also be Used as a Studio, Office or a Lounge

Bob Wheeler, President of Airstream has positioned the trailer as a ‘Halo’ product for his large base of discerning clients. Many of his customers would not be using this trailer for travel but as a semi permanent, movable outbuilding. Some of his customers are sure use the trailer as a studio or camp office or simply a lounge for relaxation and recreation. Airstream has not finalized the pricing of the new trailer. It would be safe to say that it would be affordable by the elite only. Their earlier 28 feet long trailer, the Flying Cloud was priced at $80,000 and it had relatively simple interiors like laminate countertops. The price will be in six digits but we will have to wait to see how high they peg it?
