Whiskey Collector Mahesh Patel Pays $247,938 for the First Dalmore Constellation Collection

Dalmore’s Highland distillery has over the years created spirits that have processed the malt in different ways to bring out various aspects of the malt. These vintages produced between 1964 and 1992 have been brought together as the Dalmore Constellation Collection for the first time. It consists of 21 expressions or interpretations of the finest malt and represents the entire spectrum of Dalmore creations. These are bold whiskies that have matured and achieved their finesse in some of the finest casks from around the world. The collection has been presented with equal finess. The bottling of the spirit has been done in hand blown crystal decanters which have been put together as a collection in a bespoke lacquered presentation cabinet.

Patel Considers Dalmore to be the Best

The Dalmore Constellation Collection has found an eager buyer in American entrepreneur and property developer, Mahesh Patel. The transaction was done through The Whisky Shop in the UK for $247,938. Patel is a known whiskey lover and collector and already has a considerable collection worth almost $2 million. He considers Dalmore to be one of the best in terms of quality, rarity and investment and ultimately taste. The collection Patel bought was inscribed with his lucky number 13 and was one of the resons that encouraged him to go for the rare collection. The Whiskey Shop UK was the first high street retailer to stock the Dalmore Collection.

Dalmore is the Fastest Growing Malt Whiskey in the World

Andrew Torrance, Managing Director of The Whisky Shop pointed out that whiskey has grown from strength to strength and prestigious collections like the Constellation have helped increase their sales in the last year despite the uncertain economic environment. It is the premium segment that has shown a healthy growth. International Wine & Spirits Research through their study has confirmed that Dalmore is the fastest growing malt whiskey in the world. At the same time independent authority whisky Highland has declared it to be the top investment whiskey. The Dalmore Constellation Collection comes as a culmination of some rare and precious whiskies created by the distillery in the last two years. Dalmore’s Sirius for $15,680, the Dalmore 62 Sinclair for $196,060 sold in Singapore’s Changi Airport, hold the record of the most expensive bottle ever sold through retail.
