The series of Hanebrink electric bike has a new addition which was unveiled recently. The Hanebrink pedelec bike called BRINK is a golf specific bike designed and developed in response to requests from the golfing industry for a faster charging and somewhat cleaner alternative to existing four-wheeled golf carts. The bike is expected to leave less impact on the turf in comparison to the carts and also enable the players to proceed to the ball immediately after the shot. The other advantage would be that it offers a chance of some gentle exercise while you ride the bike.
BRINK is not very different from the earlier bikes in the series. Several of the specifications are the same including the chunky 20-inch (50cm) diameter, 8-inch (20cm) wide tubeless tires. However the frame has been designed for a relatively easier mount and dismount. The bike comes with a custom two wheeled trolley that is attached to the rear of the bike. This bike also features the same 36 V, 9.6 Ah LiNMC battery pack and 750 watt, 7-speed brushless electric motor that has been used in the earlier bikes in the series. The bike could have done with a lighter motor as the requirements on a golf course is minimal.
The frame of the Kinks BRINK is made from a 6061 – T6 aircraft seamless aluminum tube. The space in the middle of the handlebars has been designed to hold the players score card. There is a heavy duty aluminum rack at the rear that can hold bottles of liquid refreshments. The two-wheeled Clicgear golf trolley is also attached to the rear track. The other high end features of the bike include gel saddle, hydraulic disc brakes, dual-crown triple-clamp forks and a Shimano derailleur. The company is accepting orders for the new electric bike with the golf trolley at a price of $6,500.
