Ferrari Celebrates The Chinese New Year With The Ferrari 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition

The year 2012 is perhaps one of the most auspicious and momentous year for China as this time represents the Chinese new year. In an effort to attract the increasing demanding and affluent Chinese customers, Italian luxury auto giant Ferrai S.p.A has now come out with the all new Ferrari 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition. In the recent years, with a blossoming economy and with a massive influx of international luxury brands in the region, Chinese markets have become one of the most vaunted customers in the eyes of these brands. As such on the auspicious occasion of the ‘Year of the Dragon’, numerous luxury brands have come out with their own tributes to the Chinese New Year. Besides celebrating the event, the magnificent 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition has also been introduced as a befitting offering that marks the Italian luxury supercar behemoth’s 20th anniversary in China. It was in the year 1992 that Ferrari brought its first supercar to China in the form of Ferrari 348 TS.

The New Ferraro 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition has been launched on a limited edition model with only 20 examples slated for production and the car itself emboldens the Chinese new year with exclusive bodywork. The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 engine that provides an impressive 562 hp and enables the luxury supercar to achieve a top speed of 202 mph. Along with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the 458 Golden Dragon Edition can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. On the outside, the gorgeous Golden Dragon Edition sports a stunning ‘Marco Polo Red’ paintjob that is was developed exclusively for this limited edition model. Furthermore, emphasizing the importance of China, as well as the increasing successes enjoyed by Ferrari in China, the company has complemented the Ferrari prancing horse badge with a soaring dragon that is embossed on the bonnet of the car.

The interiors of the Ferrari 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition are also as luxurious as the special edition car itself. The interior décor is composed of gold embroidery featured on the headrests, along with special-edition plaque that adorns the dashboard. Ferrari has also given this luxury supercar traditional Chinese characters that are boldly displayed on the start button of the vehicle. The Ferraro 458 Italia Golden Dragon Edition will be officially introduced at the Italia Center of Shanghai World Expo Park, which is the company’s very first semi-permanent brand exhibition away from its roots in Maranello, Italy.
