London is gearing up to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the first week of June this year. After Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding last year in April, London will once again boom with joy to commemorate Her Majesty’s reign of 60 years. Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne on 6th February, 1952 after the death of her father King George the VI. The official celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will take place over a central weekend. The dates of the revelries have been fixed from 2nd June (Saturday) to 5th June, 2012 (Tuesday).
