Cricket Trailer, the Most Flexible and Versatile Solution for Camping

When you incorporate cutting edge technology to simple things of use they become more efficient and versatile. The Cricket Trailer designed by a NASA engineer is a case in point. Garrett Finney has the relevant experience as a NASA engineer working on habitation modules for the International Space Station. He has applied some of the same techniques, technology and design to create the Cricket Trailers that are light enough to be towed by all kinds of vehicles. His tress has been on functionality and efficiency and the Cricket trailer has turned out to be a simple, lightweight, flexible outdoor living space for family camping.

The Lightweight Trailer

The trailers have been there for a long time and the concept has been experimented with by many designers and engineers. But this trailer fills the gap between the RV and the tent. It has been designed in such a way that it is open to customization and boasts of a high level of flexibility. You can literally design your own camping solution. Cricket is basically a simple trailer but unique in many ways. The major advantage it has over other similar pop up trailers is its weight. The engineer designer of the trailer has managed to keep its weight down to just 1,300 lbs or 591kgs.

Cricket Trailer: Your Camping Solution

Composites and aluminum has been used to build the trailer. Even the Subaru Outback can tow Cricket trailer. Its unusual shape increases aerodynamics. The door is wide providing easy access. There are several plastic windows with interior mesh and privacy screens. Gas springs have been used to pop open the hard roof. When the roof is popped open the headroom moves up to 6ft 2in. The gate at the back opens like a lift to make loading and unloading more convenient. It also provides a shady place if you feel like sitting down to relax. The trailer can sleep two and bed configuration can be changed depending on who are the two sleeping in it. The other features of the trailer are a rotating table for dinner, kitchen counter with stainless steel sink, clean and grey water storage, drainage, and a 12-volt electrical system. The trailer is 15 feet long and 6.5 feet wide. Prices start at $14,330 for the basic model and go up depending on the additional features you want.
