Beverly House is the iconic mansion located on a hilltop above the Beverly Hills Hotel. It has one of the most coveted zip code 90210 as it is just three blocks away from Sunset Boulevard. The mansion is famous for hosting John F Kennedy and Jackie on their honeymoon. This was way back in 1953 and later the mansion was used for filming certain portions of the classic mobster movie The Godfather. The infamous scene where the producer finds the severed head of his horse in his bed has been filmed in Beverly House.
The Bodyguard, the romantic thriller starring Whitney Houston was also filmed at the mansion. The property with 70,000 square feet of interior space boasts of 29 bedrooms and 40 bathrooms. The mansion also features a nightclub, cinema, billiards room, library, and wine cellar. The lavish estate has 3.7 acres of landscaped grounds with a 70 foot long swimming pool, two tennis courts and an al fresco dining area large enough to seat 400 guests at once. The design of the mansion is real California architecture and boasts of great historical and cultural interest. The luxury property has been priced at $95 million. The price seems to be very high considering the status of the real estate market but actually it has been scaled down by over 40% from the asking price of $165 million in 2007. Â Realtor Jeff Hyland, who is handling the sale for luxury real estate firm Hilton & Hyland, clarified that though the estate has been on the rental and sale market for a year but there are no plans to reduce the price.
The property has been rented out in the recent past for $600,000 a month. There are potential buyers who have shown keen interest in the property that has seen some illustrious owners including banker Milton Getz and publishing giant William Randolph Hearst.
