Condé Nast Johansens has declared the 2012 awards for the top properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Islands. The luxury travel guide has selected the winners from a collection of luxury, boutique hotels, inns and resorts. The selection process is so designed that it takes into account the votes of the readers of the Guides, hotels guests and the Condé Nast Johansens inspection team. The awards have been declared for a total of 28 categories.
The most prestigious amongst the awards are the Most Excellent Resort, Most Excellent Hotel, Most Excellent Eco Resort, and Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway. The readers of the travel guide are discerning and experienced travelers and they are generally focused on exceptional accommodations, outstanding service and good value for money. Lesley O’Malley-Keyes, Vice President & Publishing Director, The Americas is highly aware of this fact and makes sure that only those properties that meet these exacting standards are recommended. The guide has been in existence for 30 years now and has acquired a large and loyal readership.
The featured properties are recommended only after an annual inspection by one of the team of local experts. This leads to the award of the “Condé Nast Mark of Excellence” wall plaque. The guide carries rich, full-color exterior and interior hotel photographs, and details about facilities, rates and contact information. It makes decision making informed an easy for a guest wanting to make a reservation. The new and stylish Condé Nast Johansens website complements the guide and goes a step further by enabling the visitor to book directly with the property. It is also linked to social media sites Facebook and Twitter. They have also developed an iPad application that features the entire collection of properties.
