Selfridges Unveils Sustainable Wooden Cabinet with Miniature Designer Footwear

Selfridges have unveiled a bespoke wooden cabinet that houses miniature replicas of designer footwear. For a layman it would be difficult to understand the purpose of such a creation but the super rich will see it as another toy with which they can decorate their mansions. After all, they have ample space and almost an unlimited supply of money. The shoes that come with the cabinet can’t be actually worn as they measure only ten cm in length from toe to heel. But if you really admire bespoke shoes then you will love to display them in your house.

The other important thing about the cabinet is that it is made out of eco-friendly and recycled wood. The five foot tall structure is created from completely sustainable materials. The cabinet features twenty five individually carved chambers for 25 pairs of miniature shoes. The expertise of Hendzel and Hunt has been used to make the miniature compartments completely secure. They can be operated only with specially crafted keys as each one of them is sealed with the help of a padlock.

Several new designs of shoes have been created especially for the launch of the cabinet. The new pairs unveiled along with the cabinet include Mini black boots by Margiela, Mini Tortoise heels by Dries Von Noten, Mini Paloma by Charlotte Olympia, Mini Melissa by Vivian Westwood, and also the Mini Havaianas. The replicas are small in size but true copies of the original design in all its details. However you must really be in love of shoes to shell out a large sum of money to get hold of such an expensive advent calendar. Do you love shoes enough to buy this Selfridges’ cabinet?
