Mulberry, Louis Vuitton and other Fashion Designers Create New Range of Pudsey for Children in Need

Pudsey is right up there with Winnie the Poo amongst the most loved bears in the UK. The kids are going to love it even more after the makeover it has undergone. The makeover is more of a transformation as it has taken on a trendy look and many of the children might find it difficult to even recognize the teddy who has traditionally been yellow with an eye patch. This pleasant transformation has been possible thanks to some of the biggest names from the fashion industry. These creative geniuses have given Pudsey a new identity. Erdem, Mulberry, Louis Vuitton, Giles Deacon and many other equally talented designers have created designs ranging from leather, through florals and checks to on-trend metallic material.

This initiative was taken up for a noble cause. All the bears are being auctioned online to raise funds for the Children in Need telethon on November 18. The reserve price has been fixed at £200 but if you feel for the cause you should be more generous. If you want a closer look before ordering one for yourself you can visit Liberty in London where all the bears are on display. Giles Deacon’s creation is clearly inspired by his spring/summer 2012 collection as his Pudsey has a silver leather finish. Similarly Erdem’s flowery 2012 spring collection was a huge influence on his creation.

All the designers were happy to be associated with Pudsey because basically they love children and were grateful for the opportunity to do something for them. Pringle has used luxury pure cashmere and has even used one carat diamonds on Pudsey’s cardigan. Mulberry’s Pudsey has been made with the same Soft Buffalo leather we use for our Alexa bag and his color is classic Oak with Chocolate paws and mouth – two of the most iconic Mulberry colors. If you look closely you might be able to read the trends for next year.
