Porsche has teamed up with RIM and created the Porsche Design P’9981 BlackBerry. It is a transformed BlackBerry that is frighteningly beautiful. First of all its forged stainless steel frame gives it a strong and smart look. It is slimmer than the average BlackBerry phone you get and more contemporary in looks.
The back of the phone is even more luxurious as it is a hand wrapped leather back cover. The QWERTY keyboard also has a different look and feel as each key is individually sculpted. The wide touch screen display is crystal clear and reaffirms the superiority of not just the design but the functionality of the product. The Porsche Design P’9981 BlackBerry will come with an exclusive Porsche Design UI and a bespoke Wikitude World Browser. It will provide an augmented reality app experience.
The designer smart phones will also feature premium, exclusive PINs that help easily identify another P’9981 Smartphone user. Apart from these highlights the other specifications are equally daunting like 1.2GHz processor, HD video recording capabilities, 8GB of onboard memory, Liquid Graphics technology, a microSD expansion slot, an inbuilt NFC module and BlackBerry OS 7. It will be difficult to resist for anyone. Sources confirm that the new Smartphone will become available at Porsche Design stores later this year. But there are no indications about the likely pricing. Since it is Porsche Design you can expect it to be rather steep.
