FT Launches Luxury 360, A Comprehensive Source For Luxury Information

The growth of the luxury industry, even in post-recessive times has proved heartening in many quarters. So much so that media behemoth The Financial Times decided that the timing was right to launch a new supplement – Luxury 360. To begin with, the subsection will remain online as part of FT.com. It will feature FT news related to the luxury industry, and will include everything from news and analysis to special features. The editor of Luxury 360 is Vanessa Friedman. Friedman is currently serving as the fashion editor for FT. Now, as the editor of Luxury 360, her job will entail collecting a range of information and news articles related to the luxury industry to feature in the new luxury subsection of FT.com.

Stories that will go into the Luxury 360 section will cover areas like high fashion, arts, luxury retail as well as travel, high-end property, yachts, luxury cars, and food and wine. FT Weekend, the weekend subsection of the news site, will also provide content that can be used by Luxury 360. Industry watchers can look out for special reports, news on luxury industry conferences, and exclusive online content as well. The exclusive content features daily fashion show reviews, interactive slideshows and the Material World blog.

Friedman revealed the overall objective of Luxury 360. She said that a growing number of websites deals with only specific aspects of the luxury industry, which can prove confusing for customers. Luxury 360 will deviate from the host of niche websites and become a one-stop source of information pertaining to this growing $80 billion industry.
