Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Adds Celebrity Fans to its Ad Campaign

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts. They have an ongoing global print ad campaign “He’s a Fan/She’s a Fan,” which is worth millions of dollars and has been going on for many years now. The campaign has added new celebrity fans recently who have become part of the current campaign. The celebrity are American actor, director, screenwriter and producer Kevin Spacey; French footwear designer Christian Louboutin; and French actress Sophie Marceau. They are regulars at Mandarin Oriental Hotels around the world.

The concept of the campaign is simple but beautiful. Each celebrity is photographed in a location of their choice and in appreciation of their support; the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group makes a donation to each celebrity’s individual choice of charity. Celebrated photographer and British royal, Lord Patrick Lichfield used to be the official photographer for the group till he passed away in 2005. The Group appointed renowned portrait photographer Mary McCartney in 2006. The twenty celebrities associated with the campaign form a very diverse group that includes names like Kenzo Takada, Jerry Hall, Vanessa Mae, Liam Neeson and Helen Mirren.

The new celebrities give more depth to the group. Kevin Spacey is an award winning American actor, director, screenwriter and producer. The Kevin Spacey Foundation that supports young actors, writers, directors and producers is the charity of his choice. Christian Louboutin is the French footwear designer has taken shoes to the level of an art form. Sophie Marceau is the talented French actress who has worked in international films such as Braveheart, and played villain and femme fatale, Elektra Kin, in the Bond movie, The World is Not Enough.
