Guess who will be getting a surprise wedding gift from Banksy? Supermodel Kate Moss is in store for a surprise when she returns from her honeymoon on a luxury yacht on the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. According to reports, the notorious graffiti artist has been given access to the supermodel’s Highgate mansion to create one of his signature works of art as a wedding gift to Kate and her rocker husband Jamie Hince.
The identity of the person who has made the commission has not been revealed yet. According to sources, the Banksy artwork will be placed in the bathroom. Kate may not know it yet, but the artwork is apparently valued at £200,000. According to a source, Banksy has been working round the clock to ensure that the spray painting on the artwork in the bathroom is complete by the time Kate gets back. The reason for getting Banksy on board is partly because Kate loves all things British, and as a source put it, “Banksy is the ultimate symbol of Post Pop Britishness”.
In the past, Banksy has used Kate as the subject of his artworks. Banksy took Andy Warhol‘s Marilyn Monroe series as inspiration to create his own series of prints featuring Kate. Currently, these prints cost £80,000 a piece. But Kate has been the inspiration for various other artists including Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince and Alex Katz.
Not that Banksy is the only artist to have come up with unique wedding gifts for Kate and Jamie. Jake and Dinos Chapman, Tracy Emin and sculptor Marc Quinn also had gifts in store for the newlyweds.
