Windstar Cruises Introduces Bike Program for Guests to Explore Destinations on their Own

Windstar Cruises operates a three ship fleet of luxury yachts and always strives to add new experiences for guests who sail with them. They are known for exploring hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world’s most treasured destinations. They have introduced a bike program on their yachts for guests who would like to explore destinations on shore on their own on a bike. Some guests treasure a personal experience more than a group tour. They have selected the 7000 series aluminum frame Dragon Marine Folding Bikes for the new program.

Eight bikes have been made available on Wind Surf and four bikes each have been stationed on Wind Spirit and Wind Star. The half day or four hours rental for the bike has been fixed at $39 and full day, which is eight hours rental, would be $59. Bike helmets, locks and chains are provided by the cruise. Guests wanting to reserve the bike for particular ports must contact the Windstar’s Destination Manager aboard each yacht.  Windstar Cruises recently announced its calendar for 2012 sailings and they are all open for bookings and reservations.

The guests who book by June 30, 2011 will receive a $200 shipboard credit per cabin. A discount of 15% is offered to every guest who makes a reservation at least 180 days in advance. Their exclusive Foremast Members are entitled to an additional 5% discount on all itineraries. Windstar has been recognized by leading travel bodies, including Conde Nast Traveler as The World’s Best Cruise Lines. All three of their sailing yachts have made it to the list of Best Small Ships. The Windstar ships carry only 148 to 312 guests and cruise to almost 100 ports throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas.
