Hotel Schweizerhof is Remodeled as a Modern Luxury Hotel

Hotel Schweizerhof has been remodeled to retain its century old look and glory with a contemporary and modern feel. The hotel with its 99 rooms is located in a 1913 listed building in the Swiss capital. The renovation has restored the elegant arched façade but scaled down the corridors to create more space for the rooms. Modern trapping like flat screen TV and coffee machines have been installed in the rooms and the latest technology has been employed to make the rooms more luxurious and comfortable for the guests.

Jack’s Brasserie, the hotels wood paneled restaurant and the Lobby Lounge are an institution in themselves and are favored by well-heeled locals and hotel guests alike. London based MKV Design was commissioned for the renovation project and redesign the hotel. Designers from the award winning firm helped to add a modern edge to the hotel’s tried and tested brand of luxury. On the outside the hotel has retained its glorious look it had a hundred years ago. The intricately carved coat of arms has been painstakingly restored. The little Juliet balconies add to its old world charm.

Some of the antique furniture of the hotel was also restored and remodeled as per modern design elements. Hotel Schweizerhof is ready and rearing to go for a new innings as the premier luxury hotel of the Swiss capital. It is all decked up for the Grand Opening Night which is scheduled to take place on June 24, 2011. It will be rolled out as a grand event with patrons like Hollywood star Ursula Andress and the top Bernese model Julia Saner in attendance. The choice of the special invitees also combines the traditional and the contemporary. A lot of celebrities and top personalities from the worlds of hospitality, business, politics, diplomacy, culture and entertainment are expected to attend the grand opening of the hotel.
