The Yachts of Seabourn has produced some of the best vessels roaming the seas today. They have created a new vessel, the Seabourn Quest, which will be launched into service in June. Seabourne has signed on actress Blythe Danner to act as the ship’s godmother. She will be leading a special naming ceremony for the new ship after which it will embark on its first voyage. The ceremony will be held in Barcelona on June 20, 2011. Quest is the newest ship in the series produced by Seabourn which are known for a unique sense of fun that sparks the social atmosphere on board.
Blythe Danner has won both the Tony and Emmy Awards and is best known for her roles in the Meet the Parents movies. She has also done interesting roles on Showtime’s Huff and NBC’s Will and Grace. She has also done a role with her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie Sylvia. She will be presiding over the special function at Barcelona’s harbor with the guests and crew of the new ship after which the ship will sail off on a 14 day maiden voyage to Athens, Greece.
Richard Meadows, President of Seabourn is very happy to have Ms. Danner do the honors of naming the new ship officially. The new ship has been created in the new design similar to two other Seabourn ships in service namely, Odyssey and Sijourn. The Seabourn plans to add three more ships to its fleet either in a 104 or a 225 suites configuration. They will all be used to visit destinations that cannot be reached by the larger cruise ships. The new ship Quest will be doing some short Eastern Mediterranean cruises before beginning a 109 day World Cruise from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
