Mulberry has grown into a mature yet young and exciting luxury brand. The brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary and they wanted to do something exciting that projected its image as a happening brand. They have released a book, commemorating the occasion, with captivating images that give you a ringside view of the charming world of the luxury brand. They had been preparing for the book since last few years. They had commissioned the photographer Venetia Dearden for the job a few years back. The book is the result of three years of labor of love.
Venetia Dearden spent three years following the Mulberry team at their factory, events, fashion shows, shoots, and day to day happenings. All the images were caught on camera and then the large number of images was edited to present an intimate look into the brand and make the reader understand what makes exciting luxury brand tick. Venetia Dearden had access to everyone in the company and she utilized it very well to compile a complete picture and the interesting face of the company and the people who work for it.
There are so many interesting photographs in the book that it is difficult to highlight them here. You have an interesting shot of a fashion show which has been taken from behind Grace Coddington’s unmistakable red mane. Another photograph that catches your eyes easily is Tim Walker scrutinizing a bouquet of hydrangeas for the advertising campaign. Venetia has caught the fun moments very well as you go through several great party photographs. The overall image that emerges out of the book is a large happy family that you would love to be a part of. Mulberry looks unmistakably young at 40. In any case 40 is the new 30.
