Samurai Prestige Lighter and Pen set by S T Dupont to cost $66,000

Simon Tissot Dupont or S.T.Dupont has been is a designer brand from Paris that makes stylish lighters, collectible pens, handbags, and recently stylish tech gadgets using the trademark diamond-head pattern. They have recently come out with a new ultra-luxe limited edition lighter and fountain pen set designed in homage to the storied military nobility of feudal Japan. It has been named the Samurai Prestige Lighter and Pen set.

The new exclusive set is a limited edition release and only twenty pieces will be available for sale. The set comes complete with a display stand and matching katana or samurai sword letter opener. S.T. Dupont, founded in 1872, is well known for making chiseled solid gold sets with diamonds. The exclusive set is priced at around $66,000. The katana is so intricate in its design and beautiful that it serves as the model of the collection.

Dupont had invented the pocket petrol lighter in 1941. It had specifically been developed for the travelling case of a Maharaja. Luxurious travel cases were the main line and focus of their business at the time. HRH Princess Elizabeth of York, who would later become the Queen of England also received a lighter from them in 1947 which was made in lavender blue leather. The adjustable gas lighter was patented by Dupont in 1952 and a special model was created for the Duke of Windsor.
