Duty Free And Travel Retail Industry Experts To Address TWFA Asia Pacific Conference

The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Asia Pacific will be conducting a major conference on developments in the travel industry this May. The TFWA Asia Pacific & GATE ONE2ONE Exhibition and Conference will be held in Singapore from 15 May to 19 May 2011 and is being pegged as “the ultimate duty free and travel industry business networking event”.

Apparently, TFWA has roped in no less a personality than Christian Blanckaert, current President of Petit Bureau and ex-VP of Hermes International to give the keynote address at the event that seeks to explore the theme, “Asia Pacific Inside Out”. Blanckaert will be talking about the luxury brand business within the Asia Pacific region. Before that, Erik Juul-Mortensen, President of TFWA will discuss the scope for and the obstacles to the duty free and travel retail industry within this specific region.

The conference brings together some of the thought leaders from the industry. This includes Rohit Talwar, CEO of Fast Future. Talwar will talk about the future of the duty free business within the Asia Pacific region in the coming decades. Changing circumstances for the industry should form a major portion of Talwar’s address.

Also discussing the difficulties facing the travel retail industry will be Sunil Tuli, President of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association. Qatar Duty Free and Ajmal are the diamond and platinum sponsors of the conference, respectively.

The Singapore conference will also include several workshops that would offer special insights to professionals from the industry with respect to China, Japan and India. An Industry Workshop is also likely to be organised. Online pre-registration for the exhibition and conference is already open on the TFWA website.
