Jimmy Choo Expands into Men’s Shoes with the Unveiling of a Collection

There is a lot of action taking place on the men’s fashion front and the future looks bright. Net-A-Porter is going in for a male version Mr. Porter and bags for men are making their presence felt on the catwalk. Tamara Mellon, the founder of Jimmy Choo wanted to cash in on the growing fashion consciousness amongst men and has unveiled a new collection of shoes just for men. The prices range between £395 and £695.

For Jimmy Choo it is part of their strategy to diversify which was initiated with the launch of their fragrance and their stated desire to evolve into a lifestyle luxury brand. Shoes being their core business they don’t want to limit themselves to women’s shoes but have a significant presence in every segment of the industry. After the successful fragrance launch this is another confident step to push their planned evolution.

At the launch of the shoes collection for men, Tamara Mellon, the Chief Creative Officer said that the men she is targeting exude confidence and style. Mellon was appointed Business Ambassador for Britain by David Cameron in November and was recently awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. In a short span of twenty years she has turned a small shoemaker into a major global brand worth £500m which is expanding and growing confidently.
