In the recent past we have seen a series of international events coming to China for the first time and they have proved to be very gracious hosts. They always provide the best of facilities and amenities with a super efficient service. The next event coming to China for the first time is the snow polo tournament. The newly opened Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club will host Asia’s first snow polo tournament from February 15 – 20, 2011.
Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club is the first private polo club in Tianjin and has the largest polo facilities in China. Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club & Hotel features two international-sized polo fields, stabling for 150 horses, training facilities, riding school and a luxurious club hotel. The infrastructure has been newly created to international standards. There is a team of professional international managers is in place to maintain and service the infrastructure.
The Snow Polo Tournament will feature six teams from the leading polo playing nations. Teams from England, France, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and China will participate. Two matches will be held every day in the league format. Snow Polo first started in the Swiss resort of St. Moritz in 1985. Only three players from each side play with an orange ball which is slightly larger than a normal polo ball.
