Well there are lots of both big-time and small-time companies whose only product line is accessories for Apple products. Each time Steve Jobs doles out his iconic “i” creation, these guys hop on to their mills and dish out plethora of accessories and apps just so that they too can have a piece of the bigger cake. But Virgin head honcho unveiling an iPad compatible magazine did take me by surprise.
Richard Branson has announced that Virgin Group would be launching a new bespoke magazine exclusively designed for viewing in iPad in New York. Some people believe this new venture is fueled by News Corporation’s recent announcement about launching an iPad version of their daily newspaper ‘The Daily’.
Branson’s daughter Hollie Branson will be heading this unnamed project. The former editor of magazines like Zoo, FMH and Arena, Anthony Noguera too will be joining her. With in-flight entertainment systems and advertising mediums being upgraded to incorporate iPads all over, I wouldn’t be surprised for everything to turn “i” obsessed from the present “e” versions.
