The luxury boutique brand combines the personal, intimate, individualized and unique lodging experience that Ian Schrager and capitalize on the global reach, operational expertise and scale of Marriott. In its pursuit to become more globally accessible, Marriott announced that Edition will soon rein the elite hospitality shores of London.
The London destination is preceded by their first launch in Hawaii just few weeks ago. The location will be the former Berners Hotel, a converted residence in London’sFitzrovia media district. Ian Schrager will look after a complete redevelopment of the building. Great location and beautiful were some of the winning points of this location which the Marriot President believes to be “perfect canvas for creating a true work of art.”
The folks at Edition Hotels are simply following the pursuit of being present in all the exciting locations all over the world. Their first property in Hawaii has received bucket loads of positive reviews which serve as impetus for their compulsive expansion. Also the Istanbul property’s opening date has been pushed to the first half of 2011. With the 2012 Olympic Games on their way, the luxury hotel industry in London is going to reach its peak and let’s see how Edition can grab a piece for itself.
