Louis Vuitton Celebrates the Work of Artist Ruben Toledo

The artist, Ruben Toledo has been doing the art work for the Louis Vuitton city guides for the past twelve years and he has done a great job each and every year. To honour the great job this artist has done for them for so many years, the fashion house is bringing out a boxed set of 100 postcards. Each postcard will feature different cities from around the globe.

It has black and white illustrations that are given a touch of bright colours, and the outcome looks absolutely stunning! These images in the book try to capture the essence, the life of the city. There are some images that go back to 1998 and were one of his first creations by Toledo for Louis Vuitton. The artist says: “My aim is to paint a portrait of a city and to draw out its special and eternal essence; to capture the unique tempo and character of each.”

Well I think he has done a wonderful job at it and I guess it would be for the people of each city to decide whether he has really captured the essence of their city or not. For that you will have to pay AU$145.
