Seiko to Launch Its Active Matrix EPD Watch in Japan

Seiko has been at the forefront of the movement to incorporate innovative features in wrist watches. The digital revolution had even threatened the century old Swiss watch makers for some time. Seiko is now ready to release their Active Matrix EPD watch. It will be available in the market soon as the company has now decided to launch this watch in Japan during the busy holiday season.

The new watch will be available in three colors, silver, gold and black. The unique feature of this new offering from Seiko is a 300dpi EPD (Matrix Electrophoretic) display with a 180 degree viewing angle. There are several other features that makes this watch different and superior than other standard watches in the market. It can display world time of 32 cities. It has automatic synchronization via radio signal and a stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal.

The EPD watch from Seiko has a built in solar panel that enables it to offer roughly 30 days of display time on a full charge. The Seiko active-Matrix EPD watch has several models with minor variations and features. There are minor variations in individual prices as well. All the variants of the watch have been priced between 94,500 Yen ($1,127) and 105,000 Yen ($1,253).
