Cyprus President Lays the Foundation Stone of Limassol Marina Project

The Republic of Cyprus, a Eurasian island country has been one of the most popular tourist destinations of all times. President Demetris Christofias has been undertaking large projects to enrich island’s position as a maritime tourist spot and also create new jobs. On 7th September he laid the foundation for Limassol marina, a €350 million project that will redefine the coastal city’s landscape.

The Limassol Marina Project is in line with the President’s effort to modernize and rebuild the infrastructure in Limassol. Realizing that the global rouris environment is facing cut throat competition, their government has placed execution of tourist infrastructure projects and enrichment products on a high priority list.

Other projects that will help boost the tourism industry includes construction of the new Larnaca and Paphos airports, construction of marinas in Larnaca, Paphos and Ayia Napa, as well as golf courses and conference centres.  Limassol Marina is known to be a waterfront development combining luxury residence where some 160 of which will have their own private moorings. It is situated at a short distance from the city’s old harbor and expected to be ready by 2014.
