Home Theater in a Box for 88 Grand

Home Theater systems have a very large market and many systems have been created at various price points to meet different needs and budgets. The cost of one particular system had gone up to a whooping $6 million which was set up in Connecticut. This is not a price where you can think in terms of volumes but JBL and Mark Levinson has developed a pre-packaged ready to go solution for a price of $88,000.

There is a large segment of buyers who do not have the know how or the time to compare and choose components to create a system. For them Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) systems are a popular way to go. Still at $88,000 one can expect the system to have a lot of equipment. Put together by JBL and Mark Levinson the Synthesis One Array ML Premier system includes 12 speakers, 4 amplifiers, a surround sound processor and two digital equalizers.

The system by itself does not include any source. Though they recommend their Lexicon BD-30 Blu-Ray player for an additional $3,500. It is no doubt a very good system but one moot question remains that in this range of prices the consumer would be looking for customization and equipment to serve his specific needs. May be we can hope for some flexibility in the future.
