The Survey of Room Rates in Cities Around the World has no Surprises

The travel trade does a lot of surveys every year to keep a watch on prices, services, hotels etc. to keep the travelling public informed. International travel services firm HRG has just released the findings of their 2009/2010 hotel price survey. The trend in prices and the position on the city wise list is no different. Moscow has been crowned once again as the city with the most expensive hotel rooms with an average rate of $408.

It might sound totally insane to some people those are the rates in the Russian Capital. There hasn’t been much change in the list of top ten cities in terms of hotel room rates. Washington DC and New York represent America in the top ten list. For your information, the five most expensive cities is made up of New York, Washington DC, Houston, Boston and Chicago and they have been maintaining this ranking for some time now.

The most surprising thing is that the price difference between the average room rate in New York and Chicago is almost $100 which highlights the fact that room rate of New York hotels are extremely high. The New York prices are almost the double of Montreal prices which is last on the top ten list.
