New Track Bike From Felt With Very Unusual Looks

Felt has readied a new fixed gear track bike for launch. It is a simple bike that might score with the consumers for its looks. The TK4130 is a retro styled , steel framed bike with some lovely features and a very unusual design decision that does not seem very logical. It is about the rim of the bike. They are made out of faux wood. It is not real wood as it is not a material that would work well as a rim.

The logic of this design decision is difficult to fathom as it seems any thing else would have looked better in the rim. The chain ring is a skip tooth design with only half the teeth of regular ring of the same size. The pedals also have the traditional toe clips and straps instead of the usual modern day clip less fixings.

This is a track bike but not with the high tech features that it can actually compete in the modern day racing. The TK4130 seems to be aimed at amateurs who will use it for commuting in the city but would like to get a feel of a real track bike. Felt has priced this new model at $800 but is yet to list it on their site.
