London-based industrial designer Thomas Tzortzi has announced his conceptual luxury ship called Eunoia. It is meant to question the ideals of western tourism and the loss of “culture” while I am intrigued by the idea of “loss of culture” I would have to deny that there is any such thing as “western tourism” If one believes that it is a bad thing to visit other countries, and that the influx of foreigners ruins foreign cultures, I shall again have to disagree.
For, culture again denies the existence of independent realities. That aside, Eunoia is designed to take 8 people on a eco-flight. Later, as the technology evolves, it would carry 60 people. It would take you on a zero emission trip and would fly over countries slowly, but surely. It should not however fly over countries that are ravaged by wars, for it could be brought down by soldiers.
It comes with a sun deck where the visitors can sit and enjoy the scenery. I am not sure how much a trip on this might cost but trust me, it is going to be a lot of money. It sure must be fun though to sit perched on top of a slow moving air-gondola, and wait for an air disaster to take place.
