Now I like the brand Burberry. They have some very classic prints, great tailoring, and are also long lasting as the materials they use are top class. Their perfumes are pretty good as well. But now this fashion house is coming out with a beauty line of its own. This beauty line will include a whole range of makeup that is supposed to be inspired by “touch and feel of lightweight Burberry outerwear fabrics – the last layer you put on”. Atleast that is what they are saying in their press releases.
Now I get a little confused. Though their classic “hay-market check” pattern goes really well on umbrellas, trench coats and even luggage, I am not sure it will be such a good idea to incorporate them into makeup! The colour palette will include sombre colours such as greyed-off, smoky, dusty, trench and Gabardine. Gabardine! Wasn’t it a fabric invented by Burberry in 19th century, which was supposed to be hard-wearing and weatherproof?
Though I have my doubts about how exactly the makeup in this beauty line actually is, but from the picture of these models, it doesn’t seem bad at all. You can get the Burberry beauty range from Nordstrom.com.
