Own a Home With Its Own Vineyard at $15.5million Only

The thought of owning a house with its own vineyard is intoxicating. Even in Irvine, California it is difficult to find a home like that. But 26, Grey Owl, which has been listed recently is an exception. It has a 13,500 square foot mansion built on a 1.73 acre lot. The surrounding vineyard attached to it is big enough to produce two barrels of wine at harvest.

Pacific Design Estates Inc. has constructed the property located in the community of Shady Canyon. Forest Studios and the Ritner Group have collaborated on the design of the mansion and the surrounding areas. The interiors have been very artfully designed by a local designer, D Kruse. The distinguishing feature of the property is the subterranean wine cellar and the tunnel connecting the residence to the pool house and the Home Theatre. The house also features a huge gourmet kitchen fitted with a walk-in refrigerator, a cooking range by Lacanche and a large centre island with apop-up television.

The property was originally listed at $17.5 million. But the OC Register reports that due to poor response the price of the property had to be scaled down first to $15.995 million and then to $15.495 million. Even at the reduced price it is still the top listing at Irvine and perhaps the only one that offers you the opportunity to live in a house with its own vineyard, crushing facility and a cellar.
