Rolls Royce to come out with a superyacht!

Rolls Royce is a name to reckon with in the luxury car business. Now this company is venturing into superyacht making! Yes, the Rolls Royce Marine division has collaborated with the American company Atlantic Yachts, to design a line of superyachts christened NVC 85 Y. This 85- metre boat will be built by the German Nobiskrug GmbH under the supervision of Atlantic Yachts founder Paul Madden, who has been associated with the gigayacht Eclipse.

This yacht will be available in several trims, and will be equipped splendidly thanks to Rolls Royce branding. Due to its steel superstructure with hydrodynamically efficient hull, the superyacht is capable to attain speeds of about 20 knots, and a cruising speed of an impressive 17 knots.  This is within a range of 8,000 nautical miles. All this is supposed to cut down on the fuel consumption as well as the carbon footprint.

The NVC 85 Y can carry upto 12 passengers in its 6 double cabins and 22 crew members. For these unsurprisingly rich future owners, there is a helipad on the foredeck, so that they can arrive in style. Killian Yacht & Ship Brokers will be responsible for the sale, which is supposed to start from 2012.
