Bentley’s latest offering: The drool worthy ‘Mulsanne’

Bentley is certainly the best when it comes to cars. It has been there for years and continues to come out with cars that are superb in design and technology. Keeping up with that tradition. The company has come up with Bentley Mulsanne, which is going to be a work of genius. This project started in 2007 and is now ready to come into the market. It is supposed to be priced around US$ 313,500.

Bentley says the Mulsanne isn’t a replacement for the old Arnage. But in reality it has replaced Bentleys top car, as it rests on top of the Bentley range. What Bentley means is that Mulsanne is a completely new car — the first all-new car developed exclusively to be a Bentley since the legendary 8 Litre, before the company was taken over by Rolls-Royce in 1931. “We kept the concept — a slow-turning, huge-torque V8 designed to provide the effortless motoring in the Bentley tradition — and changed everything else,”says  Brian Gush, director of chassis, powertrain and motorsport.

The Mulsanne name comes from a straight, a corner and a village on the old Le Mans race course, where Bentley made a name for itself in the 1920s and ’30s. Designed by Raul Pires, Bentley’s head of exterior design, the new model is longer, wider and taller than Arnage, and is also more sleek.
