Elite Estate: Island of Sanda Sells for £2.5 Million

The Island of Sanda is located off the coast of the Mull of Kintyre and is just 20 miles from Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. The Island has 6 cottages and a tavern, and was recently bought by a Swiss businessman. The 312 acre estate is surrounded by water and he bought that in order to satisfy a personal need, but now he suggests that he might turn it into a luxury tourist destination.

Dick Gannon, the earlier owner of the Island said he received an amount of £0.7 million pounds less than what was required. The new owner will take possession on April 1 and he wishes that the new owner would not turn it into a place for the masses and reserve it for the rich and the famous.

The beautiful Island experiences gloomy and cold weather which is perfect for souls that just want to be left in peace. Having a fire and drinking some scotch on a dull afternoon and watching the waves crash could be an amazing experience. Michi Meier entrepreneur paid just £2.5 million for this Island and that is almost as much as an entire apartment would cost in crowded cities.
