Sutherland Furniture’s Great Lake Series Scales on Beauty, Comfort and Sustainability

Indoor furniture is one industry that has witnessed experimentation by ace designers and elite luxury brands too. But seldom have I seen makers specialize in outdoor pool side ornamental or utilitarian seating arrangements. But Sutherland Designer Furniture company understands that embellishing your front yard is as important as your indoor setup.

The company recently launched the Great Lake Series at Design Trade Event called WestWeek in Pacific Design Center. Attributes that set their products apart from rest of the chunk is top-notch craftsmanship, unparalleled comfort and use of sustainable sources. The highlight of their product here is use of Ecoplex a composite made of 97% recycled plastic and cast aluminum that wear the lacquer of Bronze, Sand Dollar, Storm Chalk with the technique of powder coating. The man behind this is an internationally known Terry Hunziker who has combined a softly geometric line with generous proportions.

The Great Lake lineup includes a lounge chair and ottoman, an extendable dining table that can sprawl over 10 feet, a bar table, a sofa and an armless chaise. Another hallmark feature is minimum maintenance as soap and water alone can leave it shiny clean. We couldn’t find a word on pricing and availability so we’ll have wait till 24th of March for them spill the beans on their official website.
