The year 2010 will forever be known as the time when the world was bear witnessed to the Burj Khalifa tower in Unites Arab Emirates, which is the currently tallest standing building in the world and tops out at an awesome 2,683 feet. This current marvel of modern engineering even dwarfs the Taipei Financial Center, also known as Taipei 101.

however, now there are plans to build another structure that when materialized would render both Burj Khalifa and Taipei 101 obsolete. We are talking about the proposed construction of the Miapolis! This one of a kind 3,200 feet structure has been proposed for one of the most luxurious cities in the world, Miami. The Miapolis will be a giant tower that will be constructed on the Watson island and with its 160 stories, the tower will be the ideal commercial house for an amusement park, observatory, shops, restaurants, condos, office space, a hotel and a marina.

The plans for Miapolis are already under way and the owner of the proposed project, Guillermo Socarras is said to be in talks with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to get a approval for the massive height the tower will attain. The Miapolis plans call for the acquisition of Miami’s Jungle Islands, which is one of the major tourist attractions of the city. Mr. Socarras plans to take care of the island’s $39 million loan and debts and then create a fresh new 99 years lease that would permit him to create his dream building, thus providing Miami an addition $4 million worth of revenue each year.
