German actress Diane Kruger has been riding high. First it was a great performance in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and now it is a contract with beauty giant L’Oréal that has the pretty lady all smiles these days. This move comes after a series of similar kindah announcements about cosmetic brands associating themselves with leadin ladies of the big screen. Last we heard, Julia Roberts had signed on the dotted line for Lancôme while Demi Moore got the offer from Helena Rubinstein.

L’Oréal’s previously chose Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto as one of its global brand ambassadors (we know Aishwarya Rai is one of them). Diane Krugers inclusion in the esteemed list is yet another move to ensure ethnic diversity in its marketing approach.

Now, this little merit has been challenged by reports of L’Oréal digitally bleaching the skin of its spokesmodels like Pinto and Beyoncé Knowles. That said, the cosmetic brand continues to enjoy a steady popularity with gorgeous faces like luscious Penelope Cruz and the sexy ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria Parker, to name a few, rooting for it.
