British Supermarine Spitfire Carries A Lot Of History

One look at the sculpture of a classic British Supermarine Spitfire that the London-based TMB Art Metal has created as part of its latest offering to the world of luxury out there, and you will know that this one has a lot of history. The makers are quite proud of using fighter plane’s original Rolls-Royce engine parts to make this. And to keep their joy rare and maximised, they have crafted only 24 units keeping it a strict limited edition.

The Spitfire MK 1 sculpture has been crafted in hand from aluminum that originates from the Rolls-Royce Merlin Mk III engine which has been fitted into X4276 KL-B. By the way, this one comes from the legendary RAF ace Al Deere’s personal Spitfire that was used in the Battle of Britain in 1940 and that crashed the same year.

All these sculptures come with the support of bronze stalks with a precise engineered ball and sockets that let the planes be placed in various attitudes of light. These come set upon a mahogany and walnut plinth with a certificate of authencity which has been signed by one of the original Supermarine test pilots. A must-have for all those with a passion for either cars or flying or both.
