CO2 Dress Lights Up In Time To Save The Earth

Ecology is the mood of the moment. Everyone’s talking about it, right from the world leaders at the climate change conference in Copehagen to environmentalists (they have always been focused on Mother Nature) to automobiles and now fashion. Indeed, it is going to take several constant and consistent reminders to save the earth and save humankind, to awaken the world’s green conscience. The CO2 dress is also here to help.

Well, as the name suggests this one is a perfect green (though not literally so) dress for your wardrobe. We do realise that not most of us are as bold and daring as PETA activists and are not particularly comfy going public in our birthday suits. Back to the CO2 dress. This one is a stunning, detailed chic dress that has been conceptualised and designed by diffus.dk, Alexandria Institute, The Danish Design School and embroidery company Forster Rohner.

We are told that this dress has been made of several soft circuit tecniques that also includes a Lilypad Arduino which keeps track of the CO2 levels in a given environment. This data is visualized in real time and then flickered into light patterns. Quite a stylish way to inspire the green way of living!
