Cigarette 40th Birthday Gift: Powerboat Display

Cigarette will usher in its 40th anniversary celebrations at the Lauderdale International Boat Show in a rather inimitable style. It will showcase the entire Cigarette powerboat range, a visual treat for powerboat fans.

The Cigarette 50’ Marauder will be its showstopper. This star of a powerboat has triple Mercury Racing engines, from the 850SCi to the thundering 1200’s, and can speed so swift you gape in awe. Visitors at the show can also get to see the iconic 38’ Top Gun. Top Gun is a typical old world kind of design in the Cigarette powerboat range, although the brand has embraced modernity and technology with ease. The model is easy to drive and has low maintenance, and is known for its superb handling characteristics.

Other Cigarette models are great too. The display’s new designs will be spectacular cockpits.

The Cigarette range display for this 40 year old brand established by the late Don Aronow at North Miami Beach, is evidently all about bringing to fore its commitment to quality, be it in the construction, power, rigging, upholstery and paint work of powerboats.

Cigarrette PowerboatsThe new Cigarette plant, is now situated further north in the uniquely-named Miami suburb Opa-Locka.

Great to see your recognition of the Cigarette brand’s sizable exposure at the 2009 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. The talk of the show was the 39′ Top Fish Open, which joined the Top Fish Cuddy Cabin center console at the Top of its class. Every bit a Cigarette, but with 4 Mercury Verado 350 Outboards, the boat sold on the first day of the show! The open bow can accommodate extra seating or floor space for fishing, or, the floor raises electrically to seat height to become a sun pad (with an added cushion), or raised higher to become a table top. The movement is sturdy and engineered to yacht standards.

The new Cummins 715 HP diesel-powered 49′ Grand Sport was also a show stopper. Though the diesels may not look as sexy or sound as muscular as the gasoline Mercury Racing Super-charged engines on the other Cigarettes, this engine package, with Arneson drives, adds increased range–up to 700 miles cruising–and decreased maintenance. The luxurious cabin adds all the creature comforts for overnight yacht-hopping in the islands–or wherever you go!

Expect even bigger news from Cigarette at the Miami Boat Show, February 2010!
