Watch maker Stepan Sarpaneva is a happy person these days. Well his little creation that goes by the name of Korona K3 Black Moon timepiece just won the Red Dot Design Award. This watch stood apart from the rest of the bandwagon thanks to its moon phase indicator. This distinctive relieved dial keeps the elusive period of the new moon also into context.

A hand-graved face has been included into the expression of this stunning timepiece which is complete with oxidized silver moon discs. The stainless steel case holding it together is 4 mm thick and is covered with a black DLC (Diamond like Carbon) coating. A self-winding Soprod A10 movements power its system which comprises of a central winding rotor in stainless steel and a white gold mass to add weight to it. The power reserve is 42 hours as the balance wheel frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Limited to only 20 units, this extraordinary watch comes with a hand-bound book which presents the tale of Lilith in black and white illustrations. We think it is the out-of-the-box thinking that keeps this watch a class apart. Price tag will be high.

Black Moon Watch looks decent in picture. I think it is expensive too. I have never seen this type of watch before. I will surely purchase it if my good luck will work.
