Rolls-Royce Secretive About Its Ghost

Luxury carb brand Rolls-Royce is indeed keeping its new car Ghost as elusive as its name. And as its most awaited Frankfurt Motor Show debut nears, the car makers are teasing us car lovers with little by little information. The latest dope that we got from them informs that the Ghost will be a silent car with a very powerful newly-developed V12 engine. The former was expected because all Rolls-Royce are silent which is why the names Phanton and Ghost.

But the new car model gives more than just that. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in a matter of 4.8 seconds. And to achieve that goal in a big luxury vehicle like the Ghost, one needs the help of 563 hp which is ably generated by the 6.6 V12’s twin turbocharging.

Insiders reveal that this engine has been greatly inspired by the new BMW 760Li but has been made unique to Rolls-Royce. The Ghost promises a top speed of 155 mph. Again, it will ride on an air suspension which works using the multi-link aluminum front and rear axles. The first Ghost will be made available in Europe by the end of this year. The other parts of the world will have to wait til 2010 to own this one. The price tag is expected to be $300,000.
