Some More Dope On Atom 500 By Ariel
The lovers of speed, may we have your attention please. Brand Ariel has just revealed some more dope on its much-awaited car, the Atom 500. Until now, we sorta knew that it is part of a limited edition but what we did not know is that this is two-seater and promises to give the thrill of a lifetime. For starters, the 1000 horsepower per ton and the 2.4-liter V8 from the RS performance work wonders with its speed. Well, the peak output of 500 horsepower is achieved at an amazing 10,000 rpm. The peak torque goes up to 300 pound-feet at 8.500 rpm.
Then engine has been upgraded with the six-speed Sadev transmission with paddle shifters. Among other features the car has carbon fiber aerofoils, chromo aerofoil wishbones, integrated function steering wheel, alcon four-piston brake calipers and Dymag magnesium wheels. The beauty is worth over $200,000.
The car is both lightweight and extremely sturdy. So far Ariel has decided to make only 25 units which will go into production in Somerset.
