Jewelry inspired from cartoon characters always don’t make sense to most of us. But let’s put it this way, the makers supply only when there is a demand. So, but naturally some fashionistas like to indulge in their favourite cartoon folks when jewelry searching. Well, the trends pretty big in countries like Japan for sure.

Russell Simmons-owned Simmons Jewelry Company has teamed up with Nickelodeon to launch an all new line of jewelry and watches with the later drawing inspiration from none other than SpongeBob SquarePants; a fate we had never imagined him to have. And these cartoon characters come with all the bling being made from gold, silver and enamels. So, you can expect a diverse price range that starts from $150 and goes to somewhere close to $75,000.

Expected to be out in the market sometime in fall, the line’s biggest attraction indeed will be a SpongeBob pendant which will be encrusted with 12-carat total weight diamonds. And this one will be auctioned off to raise  money for the Simmon’s Diamond Empowerment Fund that looks after some schools in Africa. By the way, if it helps you decide, Simmons is the same fellow who created the famous Hello Kitty fine jewelry collection.
